This is the place to get a glimpse of the different events the FM Special Needs Support Network has done. We will update as time goes on for you to see images and events that may catch your interest.
Monthly Meetings
Our past meetings were held at Hope Lutheran Church the first Thursday of the month (September through May). Starting September 2018 our monthly meetings will move to the YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties- Fercho Branch (400 1st Ave S, Fargo, ND 58103) on the first Wednesday of the month during the school year. These meetings will run from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Some meetings will be more of an open circle meeting where we visit, and share ideas/resources and other meetings will have a speaker. Please check our Facebook page for monthly flyers on our meetings. At this time, we are doing virtual meetings. Join us by joining our FB group and requesting the link.
TNT Fun
The FM Autism Support Group started renting out TNT open gym for children with special needs and their families to have fun. Since combining the FM Autism Support Group and the FM Special Need Support Network, this is another fun event that we have the privilege to continue. This event runs from September to May generally the Sunday following our meeting please watch Facebook for exact dates. Our group will rent TNT from 5-6:30 during the school year. Please check our Facebook page for more information/day or time changes as well as cancellations for this event.
December 2021
Cookies and Crafts
For our monthly meeting in December the last few years we chose to do something fun that the kids could come and enjoy. Our group brought cookies and juice for snacks to this meeting. We also provided crafts for the children and adults to make during the meeting. This was so much fun!
Silent Auction (April 2021)
Our 2nd silent auction was held at O'Clevy's Eats and Drinks in April 2019. We are so thankful to our amazing community that donated to provide such great auction items. We had a wonderful turnout and a great time raising money and awareness for children with special needs.
This event is not just for the families who have children with special needs but for our community. This is a great way to support the special needs community as well as to meet new people. Please check our Facebook page for more information on next year's silent auction. We ended up doing an online auction, but we are looking into a place for 2022!
Annual Walk (June 2021)
Our 1st walk was held at MB Johnson Park in Moorhead on June 3, 2018. In spite of a little wind and weather, we had a great turnout! We continued the tradition and held our second walk at MB Johnson park the 3rd weekend in June this past year. The path is a paved making it easy for strollers and wagons. It is a family fun and kid-friendly event. Local organizations and facilities provided resource information and activities for the kids during registration and throughout the walk. Lunch was provided and there was a special appearance by "Froggy FM" cooler
This event is for the entire community. You do not need to have or know someone with special needs to participate. It is a way to come together to support each other, raise money for a good cause, and have some family fun at the park.
This event is planned to happen on the 3rd weekend in June every year.
